Approach

Our bodies give us subtle messages in the beginning.

When we don’t pay attention to these signs, they get worse, like an ache or pain here and there.

This can lead to bigger problems and, over time, can become a crisis.

Our work together helps you become aware of these messages, understand what's happening at a deeper level,

and achieve the change you desire in your life.

SOMATIC THERAPY

With extensive training in nervous system-based somatic therapy, we focus on combining mindful awareness with physical sensations to help you reclaim your mind-body balance. Somatic therapy allows you to tap into your feelings and inner and outer awareness to process memories, beliefs, or stories that create discomfort. It is a gentle yet effective treatment for healing trauma at the core and accessing deeper levels of healing and insight.

EMDR

Numerous studies have shown that EMDR can rapidly decrease the vividness and emotional intensity associated with traumatic memories. It can help address symptoms related to trauma and other adverse life events. Somatic EMDR incorporates a stronger emphasis on the physical experiences associated with trauma. It combines the standard EMDR protocol with body-oriented interventions and techniques. EMDR therapy can achieve positive therapeutic outcomes rapidly, without the need for detailed descriptions of the traumatic event.

EMOTIONALLY-FOCUSED

Emotions are critical to our identity and also guide individual choices and decision-making. When we tap into our feelings, they give us a compass, motivate us, and literally move us. With an empathic and nonjudgmental approach, we help you see emotions as sources of information rather than suppressing them. We aim to empower you to understand, process, and adaptively express your feelings, leading to improved mental health because engaging with your emotions is the route to change and growth.

THE WOO

As psychotherapy becomes more open, honest, and inclusive of diversity, people create their own healing by embracing what works for them. Spiritual therapy, or “woo woo,” offers a whole-person approach to healing by helping individuals find meaning, purpose, and spiritual well-being alongside mental and emotional health. To some, this may be prayers to a higher power, spontaneous art thrown on a canvas, or a long hike in the woods to reconnect with nature. Together we gather what makes you feel whole with evidence-based practices for an all-around holistic approach to healing mental health.
